James C. Branum

Mr. Branum received both his undergraduate degree and his law degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.  He was in private practice in Memphis, Tennessee for nine years before serving as in-house counsel for an affiliate of a regional bank holding company in Memphis for six years.  His practice in Memphis included real estate, general transactional work, and litigation for commercial clients.

Mr. Branum moved with his family to Colorado in 1998 and joined Caplan and Earnest in 1999 to assist with litigation related matters following the Columbine shooting.  Since that time, he has served the firm in its Business Services and Education Law groups and currently serves as general counsel to the Boulder Area Realtors Association, the Denver Board of Realtors, and school district clients outside the Denver metro area.
