BOULDER—Aug. 8, 2017—Elliott Hood has joined Caplan and Earnest LLC as an associate attorney, where he will serve as a member of the firm’s education and litigation practice groups. Hood’s background is in complex civil litigation, with a focus in antitrust, insurance bad faith, property and wrongful-death disputes.

Hood previously served as a law clerk for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and for the Denver County Colorado District Court. As a corps member with Teach For America, Hood taught fifth grade in Las Vegas and went on to become TFA’s director of individual giving for the organization’s Chicago region. Prior to joining Caplan and Earnest, Hood was an associate attorney at Denver-based law firm Wheeler Trigg O’Donnell LLP.

Hood received his Juris Doctor from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude and served as articles editor for the Northwestern Journal of Law & Social Policy. Hood also received a public service distinction from Northwestern for completing more than 100 hours of community service during law school. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in communication and a minor in political science from the University of Colorado Boulder.
