Short Bio of Betsy Caplan

Betsy Caplan studied biology and fine arts at Duke and Syracuse Universities and received her Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University of Colorado. She travels with the Colorado Mountain Club and often paints or sketches on trips here and abroad. With her husband, she has climbed all of Colorado’s mountains over 14,000 feet and has photographed or painted many of these great mountains.

She has exhibited paintings and woodcut prints in the Foothills Art Center in Golden, the Boulder Center for the Visual Arts in Boulder, the Gilpin County Arts Association Exhibition in Central City, and other Juried shows. She has had one-woman shows at the National Center for Atmospheric Research, a local bank, and the University Memorial Center.

Currently she is working with acrylic, watercolor, pastel, and collage on paper.
