BOULDER, CO. (July 26, 2018) – Elliott Hood, an associate at the Boulder-based law firm of Caplan & Earnest, was recently appointed to the Colorado Bar Association’s CLE Board of Directors.
In his role in both the litigation and education law practices at Caplan & Earnest, Hood represents school districts across Colorado in disputes involving special education, employment matters, and expulsions, and advises districts on a variety of legal issues, including constitutional challenges to school policies and actions, school finance, liability, and issues concerning charter and innovation schools. Mr. Hood has also presented on First Amendment challenges to school discipline involving off-campus conduct.

Prior to joining Caplan & Earnest, Hood was an associate at a large Denver-based litigation firm. Before that, Hood served as a law clerk on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and as a law clerk on the Denver District Court. Prior to law school, Hood was a fifth-grade teacher in Las Vegas, Nevada, and development director for a large education nonprofit in Chicago.
